Tips for Your Propane-Fueled Appliances
As a Glider Oil customer you know that you can rely on us for all of your propane servicing and delivery needs. However, we’re not always there to check up on your propane-fueled appliances. That’s why we’re going to equip you with a little bit of knowledge so you can help us help you keep your appliances in top shape!
Keep these things in mind – for your comfort and safety:
Your Appliances Need to Breathe
Check the vents of your appliances to assure that any flue gases can easily flow to the outdoors. If you find any nests or debris blocking the vents, clear them out! It’s also good to leave the area around the appliances as clear as possible.
Don’t Modify or Repair Your Appliances
Attempting to change, modify or repair valves, regulators, connectors, controls or other parts of any appliances can increase the risk of a gas leak. If you notice any damaged components that need to be fixed, take note and let us know the next time we’re servicing your equipment!
Keep Flammable Liquids Away from the Appliances
There’s great risk that the pilot light on your propane-fueled appliances can ignite vapors from gasoline, paint thinners and other flammable liquids, so be sure to store and use these liquids outdoors or in an area far from any open flame.
While following these tips will keep your equipment running and keep your family safe and comfortable, the most important thing you can do is keep us in the loop. Schedule those propane system check-ups with Glider Oil!
